At Paris 2024, Jamieson’s second Paralympic Games, she became the first Australian woman to win a Paralympic boccia medal, when she and ramp operator Jasmine Haydon claimed silver in the individual BC3.
It was an exciting crescendo to a stunning couple of years in which Jamieson and teammate Daniel Michel reached No.1 in the world in the mixed pairs BC3 with gold at the 2022 Rio World Championships and Leeson won silver in the individual BC3.
That remarkable success was recognised at the AIS Sport Performance Awards when Jam and Dan were named Team of the Year, beating others including the Australian Diamonds and the Hockeyroos, after they’d been awarded the Sport NSW Team of the Year with a Disability.
It was a breakthrough period for Jamieson, who had competed at Tokyo 2020 as a teenager, teaming up with Dan and Spencer Cotie in the mixed pairs BC3 and performing well throughout the pools stage of competition.
Throughout that time, Jamieson became a well known sporting identity around her hometown of Dunedoo in central NSW and she became a strong advocate for Para-sport becoming more present in country and regional areas.
Jamieson was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy when she was 18 months old and was scouted by chance at a school boccia tournament. She is now studying Economics at the University of NSW.
