At the age of 14, Taymon made a promise to his grandmother that she would one day see him compete at a Paralympic Games. He was able to fulfill that promise when he made his Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020.
Donning green and gold for the first time at the Games, Taymon shot to 18th position in the men’s individual recurve event with a score of 604. He was later eliminated in the 1/16 Elimination Round of the open men’s individual recurve event, when defeated 6-4 by Eric Bennett (USA).
Taymon joined fellow Paralympic debutant Imalia Oktrininda in the Open Mixed Team Recurve 1/8 Elimination. However, the pair did not progress to the quarter-finals as they were defeated by Poland 6-0.
Taymon believes he was always destined to become a Paralympian and feel in love with archery from the first time he picked up a bow.
