Paralympics Australia has hosted a two-day Paris Workshop where vital briefings were delivered to Australian Paralympic Team members across a wide range of functional areas.

At RACV Goldfields Resort in Victoria, team managers, coaches and performance directors from 15 sports were among the 92 attendees at the conference. Medical, physiotherapy and wellbeing staff, along with operations and security experts, also presented information and briefings.

“These workshops are our opportunity to share years of planning around operations and logistics,” Paris 2024 Deputy Chef de Mission Ben Troy said.

“Our focus is on giving our athletes the best possible performance environment. But, equally important is to do everything possible to ensure all our team members have a safe, healthy and enjoyable experience at the Paralympics.”

Among the attendees and presenters were Paralympics Australia experts in Games Delivery, Technology, Performance Services and Communications.

“A really important part of these gatherings is that it offers everyone a chance to build relationships,” Troy said.

“We presented a lot of information over these two days, but also found the time to have a nice casual dinner and connect.

“We’re all part of one Australian team, but there is a lot going on in the Games environment. It’s important that we’re familiar with each other before we arrive in Paris and feel comfortable working together proudly representing Australia.”
