Spread the love

Australians are being asked to ‘Imagine What We Can Do’ when we throw the support of the nation behind our athletes heading to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, starting in exactly 200 days.

The ‘Imagine’ catch-cry marks the launch of Paralympics Australia’s brand campaign, which will seek to engage and inspire mainstream Australia with the extraordinary talents and stories behind our athletes and support the Paralympic movement’s overarching values of diversity and inclusion.

“One of the great things about representing Australia at the Paralympics is feeling the love and support from everyone back home,” three-time Paralympic swimming medallist Rowan Crothers said.

“We certainly felt it during the Tokyo Games and I truly hope it goes to the next level during Paris 2024.”

Australian Paralympic Team Chef de Mission Kate McLoughlin said: “There are athletes from right around Australia doing everything they can to qualify for our Paris team. The 200 days to go mark is a significant milestone that reminds them that they are entering the home stretch before what’s shaping up to be a spectacular Games.”

Paralympics Australia is expecting to take a team of approximately 170 athletes and a total squad of about 300, including coaches, team managers and experts in logistics, nutrition, medical services and more.

The campaign launch coincided with Paralympics Australia unveiling two important new partnerships, including RACV Resorts, which hosted the launch at Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast, one of its premier hotel destinations. The three-year deal includes a commitment from RACV Resorts to work with Paralympics Australia’s fundraising programs and initiatives and helping to share the stories of our Paralympians with a wider audience.

The other partnership, with Mizuno, featured the public release of the limited edition Wave Rider 27 shoe. Featuring The Journey, the design by Indigenous artist Rheanna Lotter that has featured on Australian Paralympic Team uniforms since Rio 2016, the limited edition Wave Rider 27 is the official sport shoe of the 2024 Australian Paralympic Team.

The brand campaign announcement was made on Nine’s Today show on Friday morning. Nine is Paralympics Australia’s broadcast partner for Paris 2024.
