The Australian Flame medal tally continues to grow at the IPC Athletics World Championships, with Brydee Moore (Vic) adding silver in the F33 shot put.
Moore, who was born with acute cerebral palsy and competes in a secured throwing frame that restricts her action to movement only above the waist, hit a season best mark of 5.20m with her fifth attempt to come into medal contention. Initially a bronze medal winner, the result was elevated to second after a post-event disqualification.
“This is a dream come true. I never thought this would happen. I always thought I had a chance, but I honestly can’t believe it. The only way is up now. I can only get better from here and hopefully that means an even better result in Rio next year. It’s really exciting,” Moore said.
