Dayna Crees started her journey in Para-sport after a suggestion from her physiotherapist.

When she was 12, she started her journey as a runner and jumper (100m, 200m and long jump) and then progressed into standing throwing, shot put and discus.

Although Dayna still holds Australian youth long jump records, she’s excelled in throwing as she transitioned to seated competitions. In the F34 classification, she holds every Australian under-15 to open record in shot put, discus and javelin.

In 2019, at the Arafura Games in Darwin, Dayna picked up third place. She didn’t expect to finish on the dais, so had started heading back to the hotel when she received a message that she’d won bronze, quickly making her way back for the presentation ceremony.
