Determined, a problem solver, a larrikin, and a bit sport mad, Jack Howell just loves having fun and competing.

Jack is a Para-triathlete who competes in the PTS5 category. He has a condition known as Symbrachydactyly, which resulted in a congenital amputation of the left hand and affected the left arm’s length and motion.

Jack found a love of sport from an early age and enjoyed the opportunity to show his abilities and remove stigmas.

A competitive swimmer, cross-country runner, and triathlete throughout School Sport Victoria and National competition, he won medals across a range of sports before settling on triathlons at around 13.

With no disability category for junior triathletes, Jack raced in his age group against able-body competitors until age 18. Jack was the first para-athlete to be selected for the able-body School Sport Victoria triathlon team.
