Patrick “Frenchie” French suffered a workplace injury in 2015, that left him paralysed and with an acquired brain injury at just 22-years-old.

He spent over six months in Melbourne hospitals and in rehabilitation recovering.

Patrick had no real interest in wheelchair or Para-sports until he purchased a compound bow to go hunting with.

Since then, he’s fallen in love with the sport, and although he’s a relative newcomer he’s quickly showing his skill with his eyes firmly set on representing his nation.

Patrick is part of the Archery Australia National Pathways Squad and trains at Diamond Valley Archers.

When he’s not training or competing you can find Patrick restoring old chainsaws.

The driven and independent archer hopes to be competing at the sport’s highest level in ten years’ time, with Brisbane 2032 firmly in sight.…
