Paralympics Australia is excited to announce the appointment of Simon Rabbitt as the new Chief Operating Officer effective Monday 6 January 2025.
Mr Rabbitt brings more than 25 years’ experience across the sport, major events , media and global interactive games sectors.
In his most recent position as Chief Financial and Operating Officer with ASX listed company Mighty Kingdom, Mr Rabbitt provided instrumental leadership in developing and executing a comprehensive business and financial strategy to support the company.
“We are thrilled to welcome Simon to our Executive team,” Paralympics Australia CEO, Cameron Murray said.
“Simon has held key Executive roles across Australia and Asia and will bring extensive strategic, commercial and financial experience to our organisation. His proven track record will be invaluable as we work towards creating the most successful era of Paralympic sport in Australia’s history,” Mr Murray said.
“Having someone of Simon’s calibre on our team is a tremendous asset. Making an enduring impact for Australians with a disability and enabling them to pursue their dreams through Para-sport requires strong-leadership and a forward-thinking approach. I am confident Simon will bring both these skill sets in abundance.”
An exceptional leader, with a proven ability to build high-performing teams who achieve results, Mr Rabbitt said his focus would be on achieving long-term business success.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Paralympics Australia. I watched with pride as the Australian Paralympic Team competed in Paris and I’m excited about playing my part in growing the Paralympic Movement with Brisbane 2032 on the horizon,” Mr Rabbitt said.
“I’m looking forward to working with the entire Paralympics Australia team. I have a strong partnership approach, be that with staff or external stakeholders and I’m passionate about engaging with people to help turn strategy into action.”
In addition to his most recent role as Chief Financial and Operating Officer with Mighty Kingdom, Mr Rabbitt has worked as a management consultant across the Sports, Media and Technology sector including the FIBA Women’s World Cup 2022 and previously held roles with Rugby Australia (Chief Business Officer) and FremantleMedia Australia and Asia (Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer).
